From a voice note to bedtime magic

Three steps. No writing, no design skills, no screens required at the end.

Add your child

One photo becomes a charming watercolour character — their face never appears in the stories, their character does.

Talk about your day

Tap the mic and ramble like you would to a friend. "She tried the big slide today and was SO proud of herself..."

Read & sing together

Minutes later: an illustrated story with narration and a custom song about that exact moment, starring your child.

Questions parents ask us

Everything you need to know about Little Narratives for families

What is the Little Narratives Family app?

It's an app for parents that creates personalised, illustrated storybooks and custom songs starring your child — from a 30-second voice note about your day. If your child attends a centre that uses Little Narratives, you'll also see the learning stories their educators share, right in the same app.

How do personalised bedtime stories work?

You add your child's profile once — we turn their photo into a charming watercolour character. Then you describe any moment or challenge out loud (a dentist visit coming up, a big feeling, a proud win at the park) and within minutes you get an illustrated story starring your child, plus an optional custom song.

Can I see stories my childcare centre makes with my child?

Yes. When your centre uses Little Narratives, educators can share the learning stories featuring your child directly with you. They appear in a 'From your centre' feed in the app, and you get a notification the moment a new one is shared.

What are milestone countdowns?

For big upcoming events — first flight, dentist visit, new sibling, potty training — the app builds a 5-day countdown journey: a fresh story and song each day that gently prepares your child, plus a printable Go-Kit with colouring pages.

Is my child's photo safe?

Yes. Photos are used once to create a watercolour illustration of your child, are never shared, and all data is stored on Australian servers in compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Australian Privacy Principles).

Do social stories actually help toddlers?

There is strong research behind social stories, originally developed by Carol Gray. Giving a child a personalised "script" for a situation before they face it reduces anxiety and builds confidence — and children pay far more attention when they are the star of the story.

Tonight's bedtime story could star your child

Their first personalised story and song are free. It takes about five minutes — most of which is the watercolour paint drying.
